MEET US
John Solanik - Owner and President John is a professional fireplace and chimney consultant specializing in construction defect analysis, private fire loss investigation, litigation support and professional education. John is a Certified Instructor for both the National Fireplace Institute, and Fireplace Investigation Research and Education (F.I.R.E.) Service. John is a F.I.R.E. Certified Inspector, NFI Gas Specialist, NFI Woodburning Specialist, and a CSIA Certified Chimney Sweep. John is the current president of RMHPBA and currently serves as the States Code Coordinator for Colorado, Utah, Wyoming, Arizona, and New Mexico. John serves on the Education Development Committee for F.I.R.E. Service and is on the board of directors with the Gunnison County Contractors Association.

Clarissa Mancill - Finance Director Clarissa recently joined our team of fireplace chimney and hearth professionals. Formerly, she was an assistant controller for a large commercial masonry company in Virginia. Clarissa has a strong background in accounting, customer service, and she shares in the company’s aggressive vision. Clarissa is truly an asset to our team, and displays a level of professionalism our customers have grown to expect.

Jim Adams - Operations Manager Jim coordinates our installation, inspections and maintenance services. Jim has been a member of the Mountain Fireplace Specialists Inc, team since the fall of 2000. Jim is a F.I.R.E. Certified Inspector; an NFI certified Wood Burning and Gas Specialist as well as CSIA Certified Chimney Sweep. Jim is a graduate of Western State College and an active member of the community. Jim resides in rural Gunnison with his wife and three children.

Kort Snyder - Sales and Marketing Director Kort earned his B.A. in Communications from Western State College in 2004. His on-the-job experience includes twenty years construction know-how as well as formerly owning a landscape construction company. Kort lives in Gunnison with his fiance Stacy. If you can’t find him in the office, Kort can usually be found on a dirt bike trail, snow-covered peak, or any nearby golf course.

Tim Lull - Fireplace Chimney Specialist Tim has been with Mountain Fireplace Specialists for several years. Tim is a F.I.R.E. Certified Inspector, NFI Certified Specialist for both Gas and Wood and is a CSIA Certified Chimney Sweep. Although a seasoned professional Tim’s true passion lies in riding his Hayabusa and spending time with his wife and children.

Jerry Gotsch - Fireplace Chimney Specialist Jerry has been on the Mountain Fireplace Specialists Team for over a year. Jerry is a National Fireplace Institute Certified Gas Specialist, and Wood burning Specialist. Truly a Jerry of all Trades he is an extremely talented artist whose work speaks for itself. Jerry is asset to our team as well as the customers he serves.
